Reader controls and configurable settings

The Reader utility can be enabled by clicking the Page button in the Ally+ Toolbar (vertical menu on right-hand side of web page).  In addition, pressing R on your keyboard will enable/disable the Reader.  

First time users will be provided a walkthrough tutorial detailing their options for engaging with the Reader.  This tutorial is also made available via the Settings Reader menu.

The following controls are provided within the Reader control bar:

Control Description Key Command
Zoom-In/Out and Reset to Default Display Size

When the Reader is enabled, clicking the magnifying glass button with a plus sign (+) to zoom-in, which enlarges the visual display. Clicking the magnifying glass button with a minus sign (-) will zoom-out, shrinking the visual display.  Clicking the counter-clockwise arrow will Reset the visual display to the default setting

Note: Zooming impacts the size of the cursor/pointer

Right Bracket to Zoom-In

Left Bracket to Zoom-out

Font Selection When the Reader is enabled, the user may cycle through different fonts by clicking the left/right arrows (carousel menu)

F to cycle through font settings

Color Contrast Selection When the Reader is enabled, the user may cycle through different color contrast settings by clicking the left/right arrows (carousel menu)

C to cycle through color contrast settings 

Quit Reader When the Reader is enabled, the user may click the X button to close the Reader

R to toggle Reader on/off

The following additional settings are provided within the Settings menu:

Feature Description Key Command
Font Size

When enabled, the user may control font sizing by clicking the plus (+) button to increase and minus (-) button to decrease.

Plus (+) to increase 

Minus (-) to decrease

Line Height When enabled, the user may control line height spacing by clicking the plus (+) button to increase and minus (-) button to decrease.

G to increase

Shift+G to decrease

Letter Spacing When enabled, the user may control letter spacing by clicking the plus (+) button to increase and minus (-) button to decrease.

K to increase

Shift+K to decrease

When the Ally+ Toolbar and/or any combination of the available assistive tools have been enabled, clicking the 'X' button or pressing the Escape (Esc) key will Quit the AudioEye Ally+ Toolbar.  Pressing Spacebar will re-enable the Ally+ toolbar in the same state as previously accessed.
