This page details how users can create new smart remediations, review/copy code, and run the remediation locally to test and observe the changes.
Breaking Down Smart Remediation
Choose from a list of available 21 remediation types.
- Compose: Choose from a list of elements highlighted from the Elements panel. Choose different areas on the page to update, change, or target specific elements.
- Custom: Write out specific selector/elements manually.
When Selector(s) is chosen, click on the  icon to view the Selector Report.

Field to enter in additional information/clarifications about the smart remediation. Once saved, this comment will appear in the Landing Page.
Note: Comments cannot be deleted entirely. They can be edited, but if a Comment was entered and then edited to a blank field and updated, that update will not go through.
After creating your remediation, there are a few actions a user can take to examine the code, run the remediation locally, and finally save and create it.
Displays the underlying code of a smart remediation. This cannot be edited.
Code block reflects the parameters and options set in the Creation view.
User can copy the code block from this view.
Allows the user to test and view changes. These changes are not permanent and are only applied locally i.e. temporarily. If ran successfully, the user is taken to the Effects Report.
Note: Run also validates the chosen parameters. If they are correct, changes are made, user is taken to Effects Report. If a field is not filled in or an invalid selector is chosen, a Validation Error will appear. Users can expand and it will have a description of the error.
Create Smart Remediation.
Note: The changes are not immediate. The system will take 30 minutes before the created remediation(s) is live. An informational modal will appear letting the user know of this wait time.
Edit any field, selector, or remediation type and save the changes. Updates cannot be undone.
Button appears only if Editing an existing smart remediation.
Removes the remediation entirely. This action cannot be undone.
Add Another (Checkbox)
With this action, user can create additional smart remediations one after another. It will keep the remediation type and selector (this can be updated), but will clear out the parameters.
This report shows the results of the remediation’s changes and offers additional information surrounding the changes.
- The first section shows the element affected. Clicking on it will highlight it within the Elements Panel as well as the page itself.
- A shortened description of the changes
-  icon opens a half-height panel showing detailed information about the changes made.
Shows how fast it took for the report to pull up – in milliseconds
Based on what was chosen for the selectors, the report will return a list of matched elements.
Clicking on Inspect highlights in Elements Panel in Chrome's DevTools the element and within the page itself.
